Symptoms and Remedies Problem Solving Seminar

Join us for "Symptoms and Remedies," a 3-day intensive seminar focused on diagnosing and addressing the challenges that detection dog teams face. Taught by Ford K9, this seminar is designed for handlers who want to identify and improve the key symptoms affecting their detection work.

Each day is dedicated to a specific topic, selected in advance by the students or host from a curated list of common issues. One topic per day, so you can pick three topics from the list below:

• Reading Your Dog
• Why am I the problem “Maintaining Criteria.”
• Commitment to Odor
• Having a better Alert/Indication
• Distance, Duration, and Distraction
• False Alerts
• Dealing with High and Low Motivation dogs.

The day begins with a targeted lecture on the chosen topic, providing insights and strategies for addressing the challenge. Following the lecture, students will immediately put their learning into practice with hands-on practical exercises, ensuring they can apply the skills learned in actionable ways to continue improving after the seminar.
